More Charity...

Just when I thought I had done my bit for charity, my friend Susan asked me if I could make some more...naked ladies!

Not only had the "Scandal at the Charitiy Sale" been kidnapped before the actual sale, but other people who saw her would like one as well...hmmm, if possible with different underwear or something (which confirms my suspicion that nudity is rather boring...For my faithful German readers: Nacktheit ist fast so langweilig wie die wörtliche Übersetzung von Texten!...In den meisten Fällen jedenfalls....hmm...es kommt auf den Text an.)

So now it is Cabaret Time at griseldis' blog! No need to reach for the cheese, I will not sing.

Vorhang auf für:

"Baywatch", in her red bikini....

"Korsett" (To lace it up, I used one of the useless satin ribbons a famous Swedish Couturier puts across the neck of their T-shirts)

"Dita", inspired by the wonderful Dita von Teese,

"Hawaii" (Sogar scheckige Sockenwolle kann doch manchmal nützlich sein...)

Joséphine Baker", who sang the wonderful song "Sous le ciel d'Afrique" with the first ever boy band, the Comedian Harmonists.

Die Bananen sind so schön krumm, weil ich kleine Stücke von Pfeifenreinigern hineingestopft habe. Ich bin ein Bananenbieger. Und ja, es war ein kurzer Sommer damals.

Ausserdem noch einmal ein original "Scandal at the Charity Sale", denn was ist schon ein Wohltätigkeits-Basar ohne Skandal, und dann das gleiche nochmal in dunkel, damit sich Herr Dr. A. auch die Hände wärmen kann...

Und jetzt ist Schluss mit diesem Unsinn, schliesslich bin ich eine respektable Frau mittleren Alters!

Enspurt: charity cup 10 - Temptation

Zum Schluss ist mir dann doch noch etwas eingefallen...

(Falls es jemanden interessieren sollte, die Schlange ist als "I-cord" gestrickt, über mehr als vier Stiche, aber irgendwie wurde sie rund, mit Polyester-Wolle ausgestopft und der Hals und Kopf mit einem Pfeifenreiniger, einem Relikt meines Sommers als Raucherin, in Form gebracht. Die Augen sind Perlen, mit vielen Facetten, wie es sich für eine Schlange gehört, sonst könnte sie niemanden hypnotisieren...)

Charity cup 8

Ich gebe es offen zu, langsam sind mir die Ideen ausgegangen....schwarze Spitze (aus Sockenwolle) auf rotem Grund....mit der Spitze allein würde man sich die Finger verbrennen....eine spanische Mantilla oder ein englischer Briefkasten, was auch immer...

Noch mehr Wohltätigkeit....

Here is cup No. 7...with a little heart-shaped pocket...ideal to hide a cookie or a diamond ring...if I only knew what was put into the pocket and how the person who received it reacted...
On the other hand, it is much better not to know. Reality seldom lives up to imagination.

Scandal at the charity sale - cup No 6

Family and friends were not amused…
But I still think it is ok - after all, the famous Calendar Girls also took their clothes off for charity.

Das war gar nicht so einfach. Etliche Augen wurden gen Himmel gerollt, erst beim dritten Anlauf passte die Körbchen-Grösse (auch wenn Herr Dr. A. noch immer meint, es hätte ruhig ein bisserl mehr sein dürfen) und ich hatte mit der Symetrie zu kämpfen und musste auf einer Seite chirurgisch noch etwas Füllwatte mit der stumpfen Seite einer Häkelnadel durch das Gestrick stopfen.

English Rose - cup 4

Even though I have used my poshest kid-silk yarn for the rose, nothing can match the beauty of the real thing.

But maybe this cup can cheer up a gardener during the bleak winter months...

HOT and GREEN TEA - cups No 5 and No 9

I would have liked to put the two pictures next to each other...but I have no idea how this works! I tried out different knitting techniques, stranded knitting and intarsia.

Zwei ganz verschiedene Techniken...bei "HOT" habe ich den gelben Faden mitlaufen lassen, "TEA" ist in Intarsien-Technik gestrickt. Was habe ich dabei gelernt?

Intarsien-Technik sieht besser aus, besonders, wenn das Gestrick gedehnt wird, schaut sonst der mitlaufende Faden durch...aber der mitlaufende Faden macht das Gestrick dicker und wärmer...
